Palo Alto Networks’s cybersecurity technology will be available in Deloitte’s managed services for their joint U.S. customers, as the two companies announced plans to expand their existing strategic alliance.
In the journey of digital transformation, many organizations turn to managed security service providers (MSSPs) and managed detection and response (MDR) providers for security services to address the evolving security threats.
“Our customers are asking for managed secure access service edge (SASE), cloud, and threat detection and response capabilities,” Prem Iyer, VP of global systems integrator ecosystems at Palo Alto Networks, said in a statement.
Because of this, Deloitte Cyber and Palo Alto Networks teamed up to offer zero-trust deployment and multi-cloud cybersecurity services to their mutual customers last July.
The joint zero-trust service combines Deloitte’s zero-trust framework with the security giant’s security technology including identity management designed to enhance automated policy decisions across on-premises, cloud, and hybrid cloud environments.
Similarly, the multi-cloud service integrates the consulting firm’s cloud security controls framework and library of cloud security use cases with the Palo Alto Networks Prisma Cloud and Cortex extended security orchestration, automation, and response (XSOAR) platforms.
Built on this service, the two companies embedded Prisma Cloud into Deloitte’s OpenCloud management plane. Those moves also help Deloitte better assist customers in adopting a streamlined cyber defense technology stack using Palo Alto Networks’ products, the firm claims.
Another area this expanded alliance will tackle is 5G security. This service uses cross-domain correlations to enforce security policies based on user, application, and wireless device identities.
“We’re advising our clients every day on how cybersecurity can help empower their strategic business priorities, but building it all in-house can be challenging and costly,” Kieran Norton, Deloitte Risk & Financial Advisory infrastructure solution leader, said in a statement. “Together with Palo Alto Networks, we are able to advise, equip and operate security capabilities for organizations as they work to manage cyber threats with agility and resilience.”
