Kilgore College will host two technology camps this summer for middle school and high school-age students: the KC Coding Camp and the KC Streaming Media Camp.
KC Coding Camp:
The KC Coding Camp will introduce computer programming to students entering 8th, 9th and 10th grades.
Students will learn to code through hands-on creation of fun and interactive apps using Python and visual programming languages – as well as a friendly programming platform.
Campers will meet upstairs in the Business and Administration Building on the Kilgore campus, located at 1104 Brook Drive.
Cost of the camp is $150 and includes a t-shirt, snacks, a certificate of completion and a coding platform that each student will take home to allow them to continue building apps on their own.
The camp is set for Aug. 1-5 (Monday-Friday) from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. each day.
To register, complete the online registration form.
Once the form is completed, students will receive information about how and where to pay.
Campers will also need to download and complete the Authorization for Medical Treatment & Emergency Contact form and the Waiver, Release and Indemnification Agreement form and bring these completed forms to the first day of camp.
Registration and payment must be received by July 25.

Students will learn to create interactive digital media streams and content for live broadcasting to platforms such as Twitch and YouTube.
Each student will create their own logo for their gaming livestream and create interactive live productions that will allow the student to interact with their audiences.
Students will also receive training in popular competitive games such as Fortnite, Smash Bros and Rocket League.
Students will receive coaching from KC’s current Esports players, specializing in each game.
Campers will meet in the Esports Lab located in the Devall Student Center on the Kilgore campus.
Cost of the camp is $200 and includes a t-shirt, branded aluminum water bottle, a custom logo, snacks, Friday pizza lunch and a certificate of completion.
